Bohemian double-sided reversible cap

8 hours long online course with Judit Pócs, on Saturday, the 19th of February, from 5 pm to 1am of the 20th of February (CET)

During this workshop, we’re going to make a lightweight cap that works well for almost everyone and is bohemian enough to be worn on weekdays. It’s a double-sided, reversible design that fits in a small space, making it convenient for travel as well. The basic template can be varied as required, longer or shorter, wider or narrower shapes can be created.

The lightness of the cap is given by the pierced pattern. Pongé 05 silk covers the wool on both sides, inside and out, so we can achieve two color effects at the same time, so a hat can be worn in two ways.

In fact, it’s a pierced, nunofelted light but warm headdress. A hat block is not absolutely necessary, because after fulling you can easily shape the hat on your own head.

You can achieve the finest effect with 16 Micron wool, but if it’s not at hand, 18 Micron wool will also do. Get ready for a relaxed, meditative workflow.

I recommend this course for beginners and advanced alike.

What will you learn?

Besides the basic felting techniques and using and blending of colors I will show you how to cover a curved shape with silk fabric so that silk is placed on both sides of the cap in and out.

You can learn how to achieve a loose, pierced nuno-felted surface with the help of the right fulling method. The goal is to get a lightweight but strong felt.

How much does it cost and what is included in the price?

The price of the workshop is 150 EUR,
which covers the followings:
