Beetle necklace Online Workshop

on the 10th of December (Saturday) 2022
from 5pm to 12 pm (Central European Time)

7 hours long online course with Judit Pócs.

Come and join me on a journey into the colorful and diverse world of beetles.

In this course we will make such a beetle necklace. This is a hollow object where the
wings of the beetle are formed with the help of a separating foil. We will decorate the
beetle’s abdomen with a special silk pleating technique, which will give this area a
ribbed effect and silky shine.
We will work with very fine, 14-16 Micron wool rovings.
You can use sequin fabric for decoration to ensure the sparkle of the jewelry, but you
can also achieve a nice result without it by using pieces of pre-felt, shiny pieces of
yarn or different fibers such as viscose or silk, or keep it simple and use beautiful
shades of wool.
For the eyes, beads are felted into the beetle and the central rhombus can also be
decorated with it.
The shape of the tentacles also offers ample opportunities for variation, we will also
use self-made pre-felt for their design.
A metal chain, leather strap or felt cord can be attached to the tunnel as desired.
During the live and interactive session you will receive step by step assistance by me
on how to create this jewellery.
I recommend this course for beginners and advanced alike.
