Mussel Earrings Online Workshop

Come and make a pair of Mussel earrings with me! Summer is here, it is time for colors and a little glamor!

The earrings can be smaller or larger, shorter or longer in shape to suit your taste.

We will use 16 microns thick fluffy soft wool, which will be decorated with sequined fabric to ensure the sparkle of the jewelry.

You can also make it discreetly elegant or bohemian in color, depending on the occasion.


I recommend this course for beginners and advanced alike.

How much does it cost and what is included in the price?

The price of the workshop is 70 EUR, which covers the followings:
  • Online felting live workshop on the 24th (Friday) of June 2022 from 5 to 9 pm

(Central Europien Time), in English, when I will guide you through the process, step by step. 

4 hours live sessions

  • You can follow the course with the help of ZOOM app, which you can

download for free to both desktop and smartphone.

  • You will have an access to the workshop’s recorded material, which will be

available for 3 months after the live workshop.

  • Access to a live consultation in Zoom where you can ask questions and share

your works with others if you like.

  • Some days before the live sessions you will receive the templates and a

printable step-by-step PDF instruction about the project.

List of materials and tools

A pair of earrings weighs about 3-5 g.

  • Extra fine Australian Merino Wool in Roving (Wool top), Micron 14-16, 50 g
  • Sequined fabrics, the base fabric should be loose woven. You will need a total of 15 x 15 cm. (6 x 6 inches)
  • Sharpe Scissors in different sizes, a curved-ended Scissors
  • IKEA Mat Variera (with dots) it’s not an obligation, but might be practical to work on.
  • Ruler
  • Ear Wire Hooks, like this one: LINK
  • Small pliers for jewelry making and wire bending
  • An awl or a bigger needle
  • Permanent marker and colored pencils
  • Bowl for Water
  • Hand Soap
  • Towel
  • Plastic sheet for the template, a tiny piece (15 x 15 cm)=(6 x 6 inches)
  • Bubble Wrap for rubbing (20 x 25 cm)=(8 x 10 inches)
  • Bubble Wrap for rolling the prefelt (30 x 70 cm)=(12 x 28 inches)
  • Foam tube for rolling: 40 cm long and 5-6 cm in diameter (16 inches long and between 2-2,5 inches in diameter)
  • Synthetic Kitchen Cloth to absorb the Water
  • A Mesh for covering the Earrings during the massage. (20 x 25 cm)=(8 x 10 inches)
  • A Piece of Cotton Cloth for rolling (e.g. an old piece of Sheet) 20 x 30 cm (8 x 12 inches)
  • Small wooden tools and a pencil for shaping
  • Needle and thread

About the Wool I use:

I usually buy the Wool from a German Company, Wollknoll. I will use their 16 Microns

thick white Australian Merino Wool Roving (Art.Nr.1492) after hand dyeing and their

16,5 Microns thick Chubut wool (for example Art. Nr.4209)

Sequin Fabrics

Just to give you an idea you can buy sequined materials for example on Ebay,

Amazon, Alibaba,in textile stores and in second hand shops.

Make sure that the base fabric is loose woven!
